Recomposing the carnal body of this instantaneous god and setting it in a durable matter: this is what Pierre Montant accomplishes. A way of painting which perpetuates not the physicality of the site or the object, but what happened between the spectator (it is immediately ourselves) and the face of the world suddenly carrying a more intense call.
